Friendship Gate exiting Clark Air Base
Philippines

The original Friendship Gate exited direction in front of Friendship Highway.  They moved the gate after the Pinitubo eruption to make way for the expressway because the overpass on the way to Subic begins just before where the Friendship Gate used to be.  You will notice in this video, that I drive under an overpass right after I turned left at the traffic signal in front of the Clark runway.  When you exit the gate, you need to turn left to go down to friendship/filam highway.

 Saint Johns Street turned Jungle

For those of you who once lived in Pineda Compound, this is what it looks like today - July 8, 2026.  Comment below with your thoughts.

This is what a typical house looked like along St. John street in Pineda Compound during the 1980's

This is what the new USAF Hospital Clark looked like during the 70's and 80's.  Credit to the rightful owner.  If you were stationed at Clark before this hospital opened, please post in the comments where the old hospital was and upload picture(s) if you have them.  I'm also interested in other names and dates.  I understand it was later renamed from USAF Hospital Clark to 13th Air Force Regional Medical Center.

As many of you know, it's being reconstructed as The National Musem of the Philippines. I was there a few weeks ago and spoke to the guard.  He said it's due to open in July or August 2026.

I will be there to take pictures and record a video so check back for an update to this post soon.
